Here's a layout I made using the Artbooking Cricut cartridge.  I love just how fast & easy it was to make this layout.  A big bonus of using the Artbooking cartridge is that each page in the manual has a predetermined size in which to set your Cricut to.  You have no more guess work as to what size setting to use.  I'll explain about that more in a while.

To make this layout, I started my choosing which overlay I wanted to use.  I opted for this one from page 59.  No matter how many items I want to cut from this page, by simply setting the Cricut dial size to the recommended 11", everything from this page will be cut in proportion to a 12" x 12" layout with an 11" overlay.  No more guessing what size to cut something only to find out that you cut it too big or too small.

The next thing I wanted to do was pick the photo mat.  I chose to use the ones from page 64.  It worked perfectly with my 7" x 5" photo and 6" x 4" photos.  What was nice too is that I didn't have to change the size setting on my Cricut.  It cut the photo mats in proportion to my layout for me.

Once I added the photo mats, I wanted to add a title.  I loved the "Explore" from page 38.  Now, this page suggests to set the size dial to 8" for a mini album page.  Since I wanted to add it to a 12" layout, I simply left my Cricut size setting at 11".  It fit perfectly!  To define it on the background cardstock, I simply used my journaling pen to edge it.

Directly under the "Explore" title, I wanted to add "Paradise" to make the title, "Explore Paradise".  To do that, I selected the sentiment from page 52.  That page in the handbook is set to 7" to create a mini album page where that particular title fits 2/3 across the page.  Figuring this would make it about 4" long, I set the size dial to 7", to cut "Paradise" just as if it were to be used on the mini album, therefore, making it the perfect size for my layout.

I needed a great journaling piece and I found that on page 44 in the handbook.  This time I set my Cricut to 5" and used REAL DIAL SIZE.  I wanted this piece to be 5" tall.  I then left the setting the same & cut the "My Favorite Photos" overlay.

The final Cricut Artbooking cut I used on this layout came from page 44.  This mini album page suggested to set the machine at 8" for this border piece.  I instead set my size dial to 10" to make it just a bit larger for my layout.  I backed it with some Ruby cardstock to give some contrast.

The cardstock colours used in the layout are Goldrush as the base pages, Outdoor Denim as the overlay, Lagoon as the photo mats, Honey as the titles, Sorbet as the journaling piece & a little Kraft, Ruby & Sweet Leaf backing the overlay.  I also added just a tiny bit of the Teal Shimmer Trim and White Marquee Enamel Shapes to embellish.

The "Amazing" on the right photo mat is from a zip strip from the Skylark paper pack.
