CTMH Paper Collections

Welcome to our May Blog Hop featuring our favorite New Paper Collections. We have 4 new, amazing and fun paper collections in the Current Seasonal Expressions 2 catalog.
We have a wonderful group of talented ladies from all across Canada and they sure would love to hear from you, so before hopping onto the next person, take a moment and leave a comment about what you loved.

If you would like to start at the beginning of the hop, and continue from East Coast to West Coast, you can start here at My Creations with Michelle. If you've arrived from The Brae-er then you are in the right place!

I want to share the Prickly Pear paper with you today because it suits for so many of life's events.

We have coordinating Prickly Pear Sequins and the easy to use Prickly Pear Compliments which are a combination of stickers and chipboard die-cuts.

The layouts below were designed by fellow consultant, Donna Cosgrove. I love how quickly they went together. I made a few slight changes to make them my own but I am blessed that we have so many consultant sisters who freely share their artwork for anyone to use. Being a lady who isn't particularly good with coming up with designs of my own, these ladies sure help make my fun job even more fun. It saves me time which I get to then get to spend with my kids. We may be doing our farm chores but we do them together.

Now for the artwork~

With the left over paper, I simply added some card bases and envelopes to make these 7 additional cards all on my own. Wondering if I got out the sewing machine to add the stitching?

No way Jose, I drew them on with our journaling pen. I intentionally left the sentiments off of a few cards so I can add something specific to the occasion when I need a card.

Thank you for stopping by Canadian Scrappers for a dose of inspiration.

Here is a card I made using the Dreamin' Big paper suite, Thoughtful Flowers S1612 which was the December 2016 Stamp of the Month and the fabulous Shin Han Touch Twin Markers.

Throughout the Christmas holidays I made some time to play with the markers and just couldn't stop. These pages are in the planner bundle available on my website. It was so relaxing that I lost track of time. Here are some of the pages I have coloured with the markers.

Aren't these pages fun?! Which is your favourite?

The 12 large flowers were cut at 8" while the 24 smaller flower were cut at 3". I used our quilling tool & Liquid Glass to make the flowers and hot glue to adhere the flowers to the 12" wooden wreath.

At the Close To My Heart Convention 2015, we made a great layout with the theme "Up" from the movie Up.

I wanted to be able to recreate it for a class and have it easy to duplicate. With the new Artistry Bundle, it was a piece of cake to make the balloons, house, banners, arrow and gold glitter bow.

There are some new cardstock colours in the Enchantment Colour Palette. The base pages are Peacock & Eggplant. The white paper is the new Watercolour Paper and painted with the new Watercolour Paints.

I had a lot of fun using the Fundamentals Paper which are double-sided with the same design on both sides, one side with a glossy pattern.

I hope to see you at an upcoming class~

For my card, I featured Jeanette's Archived Stamp Set called Flowering Thanks.

The card is the standard 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 base.  The sketch is from the Make it From Your Heart Volume 2, pattern 24.  I used the Laughing Lola Paper Pack and added some topiary cardstock for the paper pieced leaves.  All of my stamping was done using the Black StazOn Ink Pad

The flowers were paper pieced & raised with 3 dimensional foam tape. The Mini-Medley Accents Black Collection made embellishing this card a breeze!  I added some of the Grey Wool Bakers Twine from the Neutral Assortment simply by separating the grey strands from the white and threading my buttons with it.

I'm featuring the beautiful Avonlea Paper!  I used it on this bracket frame which we created at our CTMH Regionals in Edmonton, Alberta.  The rosettes or yo-yo's as some call them are cut using the Artiste Cricut Cartridge.  I simply had to score & fan fold them to create get these lovely 3D embellishments.  I also used the Avonlea, My Stickease, Slate Mini-Medley Accents & Natural Baker's Twine.

If you would like to make this frame, be sure to order your Avonlea paper & My Stickease by July 31st.  They are available while supplies last so don't miss out.

Art Philosophy Blog Hop

If you are arriving from Crafting with Courtney's blog, you're in the right place.

Welcome to the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge Blog Hop. We are a group of Close to my Heart consultants (well most of us) and will be show casing the very versatile Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge.

Here is a spring floral arrangement I made using the Close to my Heart, exclusive, Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge and the National Scrapbooking Month special offer, called Dotty for You.

I cut lots of 2D flowers in various sizes using a couple of different patterned papers from the Dotty for You paper pack.  It was super fun to sort & nest them, making each so very different.  I inked a few of the flowers using Sky, Sweet Leaf, Sunset, Smoothie & Lagoon Ink.  I used reed diffuser rods, spritzed with a mixture of alcohol & Topiary reinker to color the rods.

The flower pot is from the Dollar Store & garnished with some coffee beans & CTMH ribbon.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog.  Hope you are following regularly.

Now you can hop on over to Audrey's blog
